Part L 2006 and Other Building Regulations and Assessment Criteria
VE Compliance,
part of the VE software suite, is the most advanced tool for
demonstrating compliance with Building Regulations Approved Document
Part L.
The programme can perform two fully approved Part L2a CO2 emissions
tests (Criterion One), the SBEM and another Approved Calculation
Methodology (ACM) route as well as the SAP2005 calculations. When using
either method VE Compliance prepares a detailed document suitable for
inclusion in submissions to Building Control authorities.
The compliance software is the most up to date, allowing full inclusion
of renewable technologies, and it provides a comprehensive breakdown of
the emissions that make up the Part L2 CO2 emission, allowing identification of areas that are weak and where improvements leading to a good pass can be made.
The software also provides a full facility for showing compliance with Part L2a Criterion Three (Summertime Overheating).
As well as Part L our modelling tools can be used to
show compliance with many other regulations and independent assessment
criteria. They can be used to show that natural ventilation or
mixed-mode approaches will perform well enough to comply with Part F or
BB101. Room CO2 levels and summertime overheating can also be tested against BB101.
Sections
of the BREEAM or Ecohomes criteria require in depth software modelling
demonstrating that targets will be met. Also, local authorities are now
introducing rigorous Supplementary Planning Documents, like Oxford City
Council’s Natural Resource Impact Analysis (NRIA), that require early,
detailed energy consumption figures that can be accurately determined
by our modelling tools.
